Soooo.... a couple of days ago I got a call saying the house was going to be delivered to the lot the next day which also happened to be my first day of summer vacation. We were so excited!!! I couldn't sleep and although it was my first chance to sleep in for the summer, I was up bright and early. The kids, on the other hand, are on summer sleeping schedule already so I had a good four hours before they would be awake. Now when you tell me something is going to happen on a certain day, in my mind that means at 8:00 am the process should be underway. I patiently waited until 8 before I drove to the lot. Nothing was there except a squirrel and 1,394,642 mosquitoes. And that is not a lie. It was time for stalker mode to commence. I had about four errands to run that day. I HATE errands; however, on this day they were just what I needed to get out of the house and pass by the lot. Four times. Yep. I separated my errands into four separate trips and scheduled them intermittently throughout the day to make sure I did not miss the arrival of the house I have spent eleven weeks waiting for. The first errand was a bust. Still nothing on the way. Still nothing on the way back...except there were now 1,670,351 mosquitoes- their breeding rate is alarming. It was time to go on errand number two. I offered to pick up some pizza for the kids on the way home from errand two since lunch was approaching and I did not have time in my errand schedule to prepare any corn dogs and macaroni. I left out. STILL NO HOUSE!!! I remained calm, completed my task, and then a thought crossed my mind. I was going to drive myself over to where the house was to see if it had even been moved. Hmph. I'll show them. How dare they make me run four separate errands before they get the house on the lot! And then as I drove across the interstate overpass, I witnessed the most wonderful thing!!! THE HOUSE WAS LOADED AND THE TRUCK WAS CRANKED AND READY TO GO!!! Oh shoot. The house is ready to be delivered and I am out running errands. I HAVE TO GET HOME TO TAKE PICS FOR THE BLOG!!! So I started driving home quickly. Then my stomach rumbled and I remembered I had to go get pizza. UGH!!! Hot and ready to the rescue. Pizza- check. I arrived home to find all of the kids lounging and watching TV. Hair a mess. No shoes. Pajamas. Morning breath. Face palm. "Get up, kids!!! Get dressed!!! I don't care if you brush your teeth! Let's move!!! The house is about to be here." In my rush, I forgot the most important thing to do before speaking to the kids. So I turned off the TV and tried again. "Get up, kids!!! Get dressed!!! I don't care if you brush your teeth! Let's move!!! The house is about to be here." "Mom, do we have to go?" "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Yes, you have to go. And we are walking there!" "Mom! Why do we have to walk?" "Because you have been sitting and watching TV since school got out! You need to do something! Go get ready!" Then the best thing ever happened. My friends all started texting and sending me pics of the house as it made its way toward the lot. This was definitely the BEST part of the day! Thanks, friends! And, I am sorry my house held you up in traffic momentarily. It was getting closer and closer and closer. "Kids, HURRY!" Amazingly we made it out of the house and started on our walk/run to watch the arrival of the house. It was a close call, but we made it to the lot at the same time the house did. Watching the house being moved onto the lot was so cool! They dropped it in the road and then hooked it up to this little remote control tractor that pulled it into its place. I will post a video on The Tiny Truth page so you can check it out. Then a man that lives down the street came and cursed at the children and me because he didn't like our house. (Sorry, but for some reason I failed to get a pic.) Then the delivery guy came to the rescue and the man was very ugly to him as well. Then I got my phone out to call the cops and he left. Yeah, so there's all that. If anyone has an old vintage toilet I can use as a landscaping feature, let me know. Bright colors preferred. You know. For effect. So after all that, I decided we should take a walk back to the awful house until Matt got home. Once the workers finished setting the house, we went back and had several visitors stop by to check it out. At this point: We LOVE it! It actually looks much larger on the lot than we thought it would! We cannot wait to let all of you come and check it out! We cannot wait to move in! See you soon at The Tiny Tour!!! Oh, and I was totally kidding about the toilet. Matt says we shouldn't stir the pot.
