Life lately has been like a really long game of duck, duck, goose. Boring, boring, boring, boring, BAM! And everything happens all at once. Just in the past few days, we have started to have hope again. Y'all probably were starting to think we were punking y'all about this whole tiny house thing. Nope. We are still for real. We still haven't changed our minds. So in the past few days... We finally got things straightened out with the dirtwork/ slab pourer guy. (I am sure there is a more official name for this, but you know what I mean.) I don't understand why this process took four weeks. I met with the guy and told him what I wanted. He looked at me crazy. He sent the bid. Come to find out it was not for what I wanted. Imagine that. So Matt meets the guy. Matt tells him the same thing. The bid comes in correct. I know what I want. People think I am crazy. Why does this always happen? Enlighten me. Or maybe someone living in a tiny house and pouring a 30 by 50 slab for a basketball court is a little off. Whatever. Priorities. While Matt was meeting with the dirtwork/ slab pourer guy, he was informed that he needs to get a permit for the culvert. Mr. Dirt Guy didn't tell me that in our meeting, but that is neither here nor there. Matt is going in the morning to apply for the permit. Mr. Guy should be able to start on the dirt this week or next at the latest!!! Now that is progress. No more rain dances, friends. Also, today we were told the tiny house should be here in a couple of weeks. A COUPLE OF WEEKS!!! My word I need to get busy. As I look around the awful house, I am in awe of how much stuff we still have. This is the stuff we "needed" yet we don't ever use most of it. A purge is coming. Again. In other news, we have been waiting almost two months to find out about our income taxes. I have put off buying anything for the new house in fear that we would have to pay taxes. Well- pay more taxes than we already have. I have good news, my friends. We don't owe the government any more taxes!!! Let the shopping commence! I know you are thinking to yourself- this girl IS crazy- just a paragraph ago she was talking about purging! Well I was. And I am. I just need some new things for the new house. You know- tiny things. And finally- my tiny house children's book came in. If that isn't a message that things are moving along, then I don't know what is. No worries, I am getting rid of a book so I can keep this book. And yes, that is a Christmas tree behind my head. Judge not, people. IT'S ALMOST TIME!!!
