Here lately not much has changed. We have decided to order the tiny house rather than purchase the one on the sales lot. Except for three changes I am making, ours will look exactly the same as the model we have looked at. The first change I am making is the countertops. I am choosing to get something a little lighter, but I have straight up told Matt that if we survive the first year, I am replacing them with granite. The model home has a shower with ceramic tile surround and glass door. While it is really nice, we decided to downgrade and get the shower/ bathtub insert. I am not sure if I will actually be able to fit in the tub, but I will try! Because it has a shower curtain, it will also provide some privacy in case someone else needs to come in and use the bathroom while someone else is showering. The last thing we changed is we will eliminate the electric fireplace in the living room. It is cheesy. And it is hot in Louisiana. And we need a piece of furniture there with drawers for storage.
Here are a few pics of the inside. Now, they were tricky and used one of those lenses that stretches everything out; however, it is very well organized and designed!
CALLAN AND COOPER'S LOFT
So there you have it! We think it is pretty fabulous and we are ALL super excited; however, we still get negative comments ALL THE TIME!!! It won't be long before I lose all my manners and just tell the naysayers to shut up. Ha! (I put that "ha" in there to lighten the mood, but I ain't playing.)
Since most people are most curious about where everyone will sleep, I will enlighten you.
Carys will sleep on the bottom bunk. We will take the mattress off the top bunk, line it with some foam or carpet, and put her toys up there so she can have a little play area up top.
Currently, Callan and Cooper are splitting the loft. We will have a long piece of furniture (that I haven't found yet) that will run down the middle to function as a wall. Callan and Cooper have a love/ hate relationship. Because of this, I do not think this arrangement will last long. I think one of them will decide to move downstairs to have the entire living room to themselves.
The house will sleep 8 at full capacity- two in the master, two on the pull out sofa, two in the loft, and two on the bunks. We should be able to get it ordered this week!!! We are just waiting on one more bid to come in before we can move ahead. It will arrive in FIVE WEEKS once we get it ordered!!!
And last, the question you all want to know the answer to... it is around $60,000.
I am Chamie, wife to Matt; mom to Callan (14), Cooper (11), and
