Here lately not much has changed. We have decided to order the tiny house rather than purchase the one on the sales lot. Except for three changes I am making, ours will look exactly the same as the model we have looked at. The first change I am making is the countertops. I am choosing to get something a little lighter, but I have straight up told Matt that if we survive the first year, I am replacing them with granite. The model home has a shower with ceramic tile surround and glass door. While it is really nice, we decided to downgrade and get the shower/ bathtub insert. I am not sure if I will actually be able to fit in the tub, but I will try! Because it has a shower curtain, it will also provide some privacy in case someone else needs to come in and use the bathroom while someone else is showering. The last thing we changed is we will eliminate the electric fireplace in the living room. It is cheesy. And it is hot in Louisiana. And we need a piece of furniture there with drawers for storage. Here are a few pics of the inside. Now, they were tricky and used one of those lenses that stretches everything out; however, it is very well organized and designed! OUTSIDE CARYS'S BUNKS CALLAN AND COOPER'S LOFT BATHROOM MASTER So there you have it! We think it is pretty fabulous and we are ALL super excited; however, we still get negative comments ALL THE TIME!!! It won't be long before I lose all my manners and just tell the naysayers to shut up. Ha! (I put that "ha" in there to lighten the mood, but I ain't playing.) Since most people are most curious about where everyone will sleep, I will enlighten you. Carys will sleep on the bottom bunk. We will take the mattress off the top bunk, line it with some foam or carpet, and put her toys up there so she can have a little play area up top. Currently, Callan and Cooper are splitting the loft. We will have a long piece of furniture (that I haven't found yet) that will run down the middle to function as a wall. Callan and Cooper have a love/ hate relationship. Because of this, I do not think this arrangement will last long. I think one of them will decide to move downstairs to have the entire living room to themselves. The house will sleep 8 at full capacity- two in the master, two on the pull out sofa, two in the loft, and two on the bunks. We should be able to get it ordered this week!!! We are just waiting on one more bid to come in before we can move ahead. It will arrive in FIVE WEEKS once we get it ordered!!! And last, the question you all want to know the answer to... it is around $60,000.

No negative here, just totally intrigued following your journey! My one question is where will all of your clothing go? Are there closets behind those barn doors?

There are closets behind the doors with 2 hanging rods on each side. We will downsize to capsule wardrobes for each season. We will also have storage under our bed and there is storage under the bottom bunk. Upstairs the kids will have small pieces of furniture with drawers to separate the loft and provide some storage space.

Chamberlain: I am enjoying this journey you and your family are taking. Floyd and I are interested in tiny houses. How many square feet is this one you have chosen? Will it remain on wheels? How do they fair with our LA storms?

It is 399 HSF not including the loft. The wheels will stay on it. I'm not sure about the storms, but we will have a separate storm shelter in case of bad weather.

You could not build it on a concrete pad because of the staircase, correct?

This is an RV so it doesn't have to follow building codes for houses- just RV codes. Because of this, we can have the ladder. If you built this on a pad, you would need a full size staircase.
